What You Need To Know About WCA Middle School.

Warner Christian Academy (WCA) Middle School serves as a crucial stage in a student's educational journey, bridging the gap between Elementary (K-5) and High School (9-12). This transitional phase is marked by significant physical, emotional, and intellectual growth, as students begin to uncover their unique strengths and talents. They also deepen their understanding of how God has created them with specific purpose and potential.

As students move from Grade 6 to Grade 8, they transition from emerging learners to independent thinkers, ready to tackle the more complex challenges of High School. The Middle School years at WCA are designed not only to prepare students for the rigorous demands of High School but also to help them develop strong character, a love of learning, and a deep faith that will guide them through their academic and personal lives.

At WCA, we offer a challenging academic curriculum in the five core subjects—Bible, English, Math, Science, and History—which are taken every year. Our curriculum is designed to cultivate a strong foundation of learning and foster independent thought. Middle School students also have the opportunity for advanced Mathematics placement starting in Grade 6 and ultimately ending with a High School credit of Algebra 1 after 8th grade, based on annual standardized achievement testing, teacher recommendations, and student/parent interest.

ARTS

Middle School students at WCA are introduced to the arts through Band, which is a mandatory course each year. Additionally, students engage in both Art History and Introductory Art classes, giving them a well-rounded artistic education. These experiences help foster creativity and a deeper appreciation for the arts.

Middle School students at WCA have opportunities to grow in leadership, service, and school spirit through various organizations:

Junior Honors Society (JHS): This service-oriented academic organization selects members based on criteria such as academics, leadership, and community service.

Council of Eagles: WCA’s student government body, the Council of Eagles, collaborates with the high school council and administrative staff to address student concerns both on and off campus. This group plays a key role in shaping the school environment and promoting student involvement.

Clubs and Activities: WCA offers a variety of clubs formed based on student interest and sponsor availability. These clubs provide students with opportunities for personal growth, leadership, and community involvement.
